Clark School Principal Honored

 

Mrs. Dianne McWain, principal of Clark School of Mathematics, Science & Technology, received the esteemed Terrel H. Bell Award for School Leadership on Tuesday, November 13, 2007 in Washington, D.C.

 

This award was presented during the No Child Left Behind - Blue Ribbon Schools ceremony.  Mrs. McWain was one of only six educators from across the country to be honored with this award which recognizes outstanding school leaders who play a vital role in overcoming difficult circumstances.

 

Mr. Terrel H. Bell is a former teacher, principal, superintendent state commissioner of education and ultimately the Commissioner of the Office of Education under Presidents Nixon and Ford and the Secretary of the Department of Education under President Reagan.  Mr. Bell exemplified educational leadership at its finest. 

This award honors his memory and the school leaders who share that trust today through their exceptional ability to meet the most demanding challenges.
